Home Office changes (Spring 2017)

 

Spring is the perfect time for changes in all kinds of home decoration and furnishing. Feeling the spring vibes I decided to change some things in our apartment and here are the first results – my “new” home office.

 

Przestrzeń do pracy (wiosna 2017)

 

Wiosna to idealna pora na zmiany w urządzeniu mieszkania. W tym roku (jak zwykle) poddałam się chęci zmian i oto pierwsze efekty – moje “nowe” biuro.

 

 

 

 

As you know, my home office is based on the String Furniture shelving system. I cannot praise it enough. It is the one of most ingenious Scandinavian designs of the past century. Simple, versatile, timeless and totally customizable. You just pick the hight of your side pannels and the depth of shelves and fix the panels to the wall. Once you are done, you simply click on the shelves or hang the cabinets. When your needs change you can swap, change and redesign the wall just as you please.

 

Jak wiecie, moje biuro bazuje na meblach systemu String. Jestem jego wielką fanką. Według mnie to jeden z najbardziej genialnych skandynawskich projektów ubiegłego stulecia. Prosty, wszechstronny, ponadczasowy i całkowicie konfigurowalny. Wystarczy wybrać wysokość paneli bocznych i ustalić głębokość półek, a następnie zamocować panele na ścianie. Na koniec pozostaje już tylko założenie półek i szafek. Kiedy potrzeby lub pomysły na zagospodarowanie ściany się zmienią, będzie można zmienić rozplanowanie elementów wedle upodobania.

 

 

 

 

This spring, despite my greatest love for white I decided to experiment a bit and change the color of my elements from white to ash. The side panels remained unchanged. I would say that that was the easiest look change ever! I really like it. I kept the white elements just in case but I don’t think I will be using them anytime soon. What I do know is that I will keep and expand my String system in the future, when we will move to a bigger place. My previous, white String can be seen right here.

 

Mimo mojej wielkiej miłości do bieli tej wiosny postanowilam wymienić półki i komodę z białych na jesionowe. Panele boczne zostawiłam bez zmian. To chyba najprostrza metemorfoza w historii! Efekt bardzo mi się podoba. Białe elementy zostawiłam schowane, tak na wszelki wypadek, gdybym miała znów coś zmieniać. Nie stanie się to jednak prędko. W tej chwili jedyne zmiany o których myślę to powiększenie systemu w przyszłym, większym mieszkaniu. Poprzednią białą wersję Stringa możecie zobaczyć w tym poście.

 

 

 

 

Another spring change is a new swivel armchair. Do you remember my recent post about visualizing the dreams? Well, Arne Jacobsen’s Series 7 swivel armchair from the Republic of Fritz Hansen has been on my wishlist ever since I can remember making one. And so, at last, a couple of weeks ago one of my biggest dreams came true (making space for a new one). Comfortable and practical, it will be my keeper for decades to come. Such a beautiful silhuette! I absolutely love it.

 

Kolejną zmianą jest nowy fotel biurowy. Pamiętacie mój niedawny post o wizualizacji marzeń? Obrotowy fotel Serii 7 projektu Arne Jacobsena od Republic of Fritz Hansen był na moich listach marzeń odkąd tylko zaczęłam je tworzyć. I tak, parę tygodni temu moje wielkie marzenie się spełniło (zwalniając miejsce na kolejne). Przy okazji chcę bardzo serdecznie podziękować Ani ze sklepu Scandinavian Living w Warszawie za ogromną pomoc i cierpliwość podczas dokonywania wyboru! Nowy fotel – wygodny i praktyczny, będzie moim ulubieńcem przez kolejne dekady. Klasyczna linia serii 7 zachwyca. Uwielbiam!

 

 

 

 

Right next to the shelving system I put up a beautiful silkscreen “Memory Lane” by Nina Holst, which I have once won in a giveaway at Stylizimo blog. It fits perfectly there, I think and it was such a high time to hang it up. There are more changes on the livingroom walls coming soon.

 

Obok regału znalazło się miejsce na grafikę, którą już dawno temu wygrałam w konkursie organizowanym przez moją serdeczną koleżankę Ninę z bloga Stylizimo. “Memory Lane” idealnie pasuje do otoczenia, a na ścianach salonu nastąpią niedługo kolejne zmiany.

 

 

 

 

I hope that you like the spring look of my home office. And as the spring has only begun, there is more to come during the upcoming weeks. I will keep you posted, as usual.
